Day 26- Something Old

This is one of my most prized possessions.
My grandpa's dogtag from World War II.
He brought home German coins, and I have a few of them. Mostly pfennigs with the Nazi symbols on them.
No, I don't prize the coins. But they are a part of history.

When my husband was deployed I often looked at this dog tag.
I felt closer to my grandmother during those days.
And I thank God regularly that they both made it home safely.

Day 25- Sunflare

We were having dinner out to celebrate a 6th birthday when I remembered this task.
The sun was getting ready to set.
Its hard to get a good sunflare with trees and setting sun while taking hungry children out of the car.

My oldest girl. Here is the middle at 6 months. And the babiest at 6 months (taken today).

Day 19- Where I slept

Confessional time,
or not.I am a proud co-sleeper/bed-sharer with 2 of my 3 girls.
Though at one point or another over the past few years I have fought to move the 5 year old into her own room.
So far that has only meant,
she is in her own BED, in my room,
her own bed, a side-car to my own.
Many nights she climbs up into mine
or I hear her soft voice
"Mom will you hold my hand?"
I slip to the side of the bed and reach my hand to hers.
She sleeps within moments,
just needing to know I am there.
Her bed is covered with her friends,
protecting both sides of her from her fears.
Her fears just loom so much larger at night.
She thinks, in the day, that she is brave,
but
when the lights go out
the fears hover over here. And I am thankful for a baby,
who sleeps well
and easily
most nights,
while I deal with
the bigger girls
fears.

Day 18- In My Bag

I have purchased many diaper bags in the 11 years I have been a mom.
Never have found one that I loved.
Currently using this purse that I bought at Costco (its from The Sak) and its been the best so far.
Inside-
a couple of cloth diapers, pink Kawaii and white Fuzzibunz onesize to match her outfit today (I prefer they do),
a Planetwise wet/dry bag to put soiled diapers in,
a Trio bar,
My wallet (the yellow thing),
a small container of Puffs for Natalie,
Wipes, both disposable and cloth,
a small notebook to write things in,
a pen or 2,
diaper cream (not to be used with cloth diapers, though),
and probably thirty other things.
And don't forget, my camera is usually in there, too!

Day 17- On the Shelf

A Nature Table.
Gwennie wanted one of these, they have them in the early childhood classes at their school. We had one when Rhayn was there as well. So today, I made one for her.
I am sure that she will find other items to put on it, to celebrate the fall that we don't really have here.

Day 14- Flowers

Cotton blooming
In the morning this cactus will be covered in blooms. My dad said one year there were 48 flowers at one time. I wish I could be there to see the glorious blooms.

Also, he is using the camera today, so I am stuck with el crappo point and shoot and I don't really want to use it.

Day 9- Faceless Self-portrait

I really love my hair. But its usually braided or in a bun. It is still too hot to wear it down often.

Day 8- Technology

After 3 years with this, perhaps it is finally time for some NEW technology?

I might be a little attached to this, though. It made it through a deployment and a pregnancy.

Day 7- Something New

This is the first year I have really talked to my kids about today.
At 10 and 5 (6 in a few weeks) I feel they are old enough to listen.
Rhayn has had so many questions.
Gwennie just liked running through the flags.

Day 6- Childhood Memories.

Most of my favorite childhood memories are of times with this lady,
my Grandma, who turned 90 this year.
That man next to her? That is my baby brother and his baby boy is the center child.
From left to right- Savannah age 12 months (my baby sister's baby girl), Omri age 9 months, Natalie age 5 months.
I love my family.
I love my big happy family.
Sure we don't always get along, but we love each other, unconditionally.
3 brown eyed babies all born into our family this year.

Day 5- Someone I Love

He isn't around for me to take a picture of today. This one is from Sunday, riding a horse because his daughter asked him to get on Red.

I'm so lucky, he is an amazing father and husband.

Day 4- Favorite Color

I love all of the colors. But orange tops the list.
I think you can tell, from looking at this blog- shades of orange all over it.
(If it were favorite color to wear, it would be purple.)

Day 3- Clouds

My bathroom was filled with an orange glow.
I looked outside to see this.
I love sunrises.

Day 2- What I Wore

Quick trip to Costco and baking 60 or so calzones with a friend. She spent a good part of the day being worn on my back.
